Maxillary and mandibular defects due to congenital abnormalities like clefts, acquired --following surgical intervention of neoplasms (either benign or malignant), or due to traumatic injuries. All such defects require prosthetic rehabilitation, either permanent or interim, to reestablish patientβs self-esteem to the society maintaining esthetic profile and minimize the difficulties in chewing, swallowing, breathing, and speaking as well.
